In early 19th century Greece waged a war against the Ottoman Empire and emerged as a nation-state founded upon the ruins of an ancient civilisation. Soon European architects will arrive in the new capital Athens to materialise King Otto’s Utopia in neoclassical garb. The complex urban identity that emerged is best depicted at Trigono, the triangle-shaped area delineated by the city's main squares and axes.
